Tropical Storm Emily has us in here sights. As such, the Captain of the Port may be implementing Hurricane Port Readiness Condition WHISKEY for the Port of Miami in the near future. Please ensure appropriate action is taken as you prepare for this weather event. We (USCG) will continue to monitor and advise as information is made available.

Port Hurricane Condition X-RA Y- 48 HOUR ALERT
Time: 1400 / Date: August 4, 2011
In accordance with National Hurricane Center Tropical Storm EMILY Advisory #12 issued at 11:00 a.m. EDT on August 14, 2011 , Tropical Storm EMILY was 775 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. Tropical Storm EMILY is moving toward the west northwest at 5 mph. Due to the possibility of tropical storm force winds (39-73 MPH) entering South Florida within 48 hours, the Captain of the Port is ordering Port Hurricane Condition X-Ray for Port of Miami, Miami River, Port Everglades, Port of Palm Beach and Ft. Pierce.
